Do You Have Healthy Desires?
Introduction
In his book, Create Abundance, Zhang Xinyue, helps us understand the difference between wholesome and unhealthy desires. When our desires are good, they can lead us down a path to new adventures.
What Do You Desire the Most?
One ancient Chinese proverb says, “The king’s wealth cannot buy him an extra moment of time.”
Though many of us desire to live a long, healthy life, we may not be doing everything possible to make that happen. So it is with most of our desires. We want to be wealthy but what are we doing to make that happen? Are you looking for ideas for a new business? Are you working hard and putting away money so you can start that new business?

We often see people with strong desires for wealth and fame. However, we don’t see them taking the steps to achieve those dreams. At times, our dreams are simply wrong for our particular life, skills and talents. Strong desire can stand in the way of good common sense. You may not have a good singing voice but you desire to become a singer. Time wasted on that venture is time wasted.
Begin by writing down all the things that you desire. Now look at your list and determine if all these are really feasible. Let’s say you want to become a missionary and travel the world but you have three children. Wisdom would say that your true goal should be to raise your children with understanding and love.
